About the ASiS-4

The Asian Silicon Symposium (ASiS) held in Asia every two years represents a forum where all aspects of silicon chemistry are discussed by scientists, both professionals and students, working in the field of academic and industrial silicon chemistry in Asia, the silicon societies of China, Korea, and Japan. Previous ASiS meetings were successfully held in 2007 at Zao in Miyagi, Japan (ASiS-1), in 2008 at Jeju, Korea (ASiS-2) and in 2010 at Hangzhou, China (ASiS-3). This time the symposium returns to Japan.

General Information

The 4th ASiS will take place in Tsukuba, Japan
on October 21(Sun) – 24 (Wed), 2012.

The main theme of ASiS-4 is the Frontiers and Innovation of Silicon Chemistry. The conference will promote collaborations between Asian chemists working in the field of silicon chemistry, aiming to improve the quality of life and to gain deeper insights into the world of silicon chemistry. The conference program will consist of plenary and invited lectures, as well as contributed papers and poster presentations. All symposium activities such as the scientific program, as well as the welcome mixer and banquet will take place from Sunday through Wednesday at the Tsukuba International Congress Center (, which is located in the center of Tsukuba City.

We hope that the participants will enjoy making personal contacts and scientific exchange at ASiS-4, which will provide useful interactions between silicon chemists of different areas. As the hosts at the University of Tsukuba, we would like to welcome participants from both academia and industry to spend four days with us in Tsukuba Science City.
